A Legacy of Torah - "Insights on the Weekly Parasha by Sephardic Hachamim"

Dear Friends,

Sephardic Legacy Series is at the final stages of completing after nearly four years of unprecedented hard work "A Legacy of Torah" - "Insights on the Weekly Parasha by Sephardic Hachamim" authored by my colleague, Rabbi Shai Cabessa. We are going to print next month G-d willing, and there is 8/54 Parashiot/portions remaining. The Book release date is September 2020 in time for the Jewish Holidays.

This ambitious undertaking was borne out of the realization that much of contemporary Sephardic Torah literature has not ever been published in English. This is a great opportunity to share Sephardic Rabbinical Torah scholarship on the Shabbat table from their rich words of Torah inspiration. This publication marks a very significant and crucial milestone as a focus on the scholarship of many great Sephardic Rabbis throughout the centuries. It is time to disseminate their great words of Torah!

Sponsorship dedication opportunities are available:

Full Parasha dedication $720.00

Half Parasha dedication $360.00

The Parashiot can be dedicated in honour or in memory of any loved one and submitted prior to each Parasha/content.

All proceeds and profits of sales of the book will go directly to cover expenses incurred by the Sephardic Legacy Series and the institute over the course of producing the book "A Legacy of Torah.”

All donations are tax-deductible. Please see dedication opportunities mentioned below.

Please contact me personally for further information concerning dedications at yazoulay@sephardiclegacy.com.

Sincerely,

Yehuda Azoulay

Mission Possible!

Dear Friends,

A year and half ago on November 20th 2013 Sephardic Legacy SeriesInstitute for Preserving Sephardic Heritage held our Inaugural Tribute Luncheon Honoring the contributions of Sephardic Jews in America in US Congress. This Luncheon was historical, monumental and allowed Rabbis, activist, and Philanthropists from Sephardic communities across the United States to collaborate with lawmakers in order to assist their respective Sephardic communities. Senators and members of Congress discussed Iran’s threat towards the State of Israel and to the Jewish people around the world. After this great event there was successful follow up with Senators and members of Congress and we were able to assist the Iraqi Jewish Archives and other crucial points which are disclosed for security purposes. Having that in mind I felt a need that Sephardic communities and representation from various cities across Canada needed to share their respective voice in Canada as well.

B’nai Brith Canada, in conjunction with the Sephardic Legacy Series – Institute for Preserving Sephardic Heritage, will lead a historical delegation to Ottawa. This full day mission will feature meetings with Israeli Diplomats, Government and Elected Officials and Ministers, and passes to watch Question Period live in the House of Commons where Prime Minister Harper and all members of Parliament will debate government business of the day. This delegation is a cross-section of Sephardic community leaders, activists, philanthropists, business people, spiritual leaders and clergy from across Canada. This will be the first time that an organized group of the Sephardic communities from across Canada will visit Ottawa to meet with members of parliament, ministers, ambassadors and other government officials.

It is therefore critical that the Canadian government use its diplomatic influence to help prevent Iran from acquiring weapons capability. Our testimony before Parliament, one week prior to the holiday of Purim, will help its members better understand why Iran poses a danger to Canada, Israel and the Western World.

Sincerely,
Yehuda Azoulay

Reporting! A special and memorable event, honoring the contributions of Sephardic Jewry in America and commemorating the Life of Hacham Ovadia Yosef a "h. '

Yehuda Azoulay, the master of ceremonies

On the date of November 20, 2013, Sephardic Jews and Sephardic Legacy Series were honored in Russell Senate Office Building - The Kennedy Caucus Room, an exclusive Luncheon in the US Capitol, Congress celebrated over 360 years in of Sephardic Jewry in America. The purpose of the event was to celebrate the arrival of the first Jews to the United States of America, remember the life and contributions of Emma Lazarus, she is well known for his poem "The New Colossus" engraved on a bronze plaque in the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty. Also, a huge list of the authorities of the U.S. Congress gave tribute to the valuable contribution Sephardic Jews in America.

The first Jews to arrive to the United States of America were Sephardim, Jews of Spanish and Portuguese descent, many of whom made their journey in order to escape forced conversion in their native lands around 1550.

This event is promoting not just honors and merits of the contribution of Sephardic Jews, but bringing a purpose of world peace, the strengthening of our faith, to hear and know the inspiring stories and holy teachings of Sephardi Hachamim, to inspire the entire Jewish world at a time that we must act to preserve and protect Judaism, to reveal the truth of Torah.

The Inaugural Tribute was successful with over 175 participants from across North America. And as described in the words of Yehuda Azoulay: “November 20th 2013 marked a historic day for Sephardic Jewry worldwide.”

This event, also dedicated to Hacham Ovadia Yosef a” h, of blessed memory, the universal leader of Sephardic Jewry. Recently, Sephardic Legacy Series published THE LEGACY OF MARAN HACHAM OVADIA YOSEF, a book that will inspire young and old, and belongs in every Jewish home. The high quality of its editions of books is inner (content) and outer (material used for pressing). Worth checking out!

Journal Mitzvah, Brazil, we want to give our warmest thanks to Yehuda Azoulay, the master of ceremonies in this event and author, founder of Sephardic Legacy Series for their dedication and passionate effort to publish books of the Saddik, of blessed memories and his good conduct and work to preserve and protect the Jewish heritage. Thanks for inspiring us in our Divine service! G-d bless you!
