A GREAT INSPIRATION OF TORAH LIFE!

A GREAT INSPIRATION OF TORAH LIFE!

Editor's note (Journal Mitzvah’s Gil Sasson): BH, what a great inspiration and good news, HaShem provides rivers of blessings, my friend Yosef Katzman's statement about his daughter's wedding was very inspired and a lesson in wisdom and true love that I am very happy to present at the Journal Mitzvah, the sparks of light filled my heart with great love, hope, motivation to believe in the wonderful ways of Holy One, Blessed be He.

May the couple be very happy and continue receiving blessings from Heaven. Mazal Tov!

Read please:

It’s all about Union.

Thank G-d after long preparation and anticipation; I walked my daughter to the Chupa this past week, and what a Simcha it was, small and cozy and full of life, I am ecstatic.

All good things that you have to wait for, you enjoy a lot more when they come.

A wedding is a union.

Creation is a union.

Torah is a union.

Moshiach and redemption is a union.

It’s all about a union; it’s all about a wedding.

A man and a woman get married in a union of opposites to build a family which will continue in perpetuity.

The Creator and His creations unite to make union of spirituality with physicality.

Torah is G-d’s infinite wisdom dressed in human logic for the brain to grasp G-d’s ideas with our mortal minds, and G-d’s ideas envelope the human brain and the human mind wraps around G-d’s wisdom to make a perfect union.

Moshiach is the end product of all unions; unity of man and woman, unity of physical with spiritual, unity of G-d’s wisdom with human comprehension, together they produce the perfect union between G-d and the entire existence.

5780 years were one long preparation to the union and marriage between G-d and the Jewish people, we refined and elevated the creation, through Torah we connected our mind with G-d’s, and we introduce infinity into time and space through marriage of man and woman.

So this week my daughter got married, next week we are celebrating the receiving of the Torah, and the ultimate goal is to consummate the marriage between G-d and the Jewish people when Moshiach comes and ushers in the final redemption.

The personal wedding is the microcosm and preview to the macrocosm, the time of anticipation is coming to an end, and by celebrating the personal wedding we usher in the communal wedding of G-d with mankind.

Dress your best and get those dancing shoes on, I feel it in my bones, the joy is palpable.

Mazal Tov!

Messiah, Redemption

RABBI PINTO TEACHINGS

Question 28
Date: 03.24.2020
Topic: Messiah, Redemption

Dear Rabbi,
I'm an occupied homemaker who has limited time to myself. How can I participate in the acceleration of the coming of Messiah?

Answer 28:
First and foremost, it's a great deed care for one's household.

Rabbi Eliezer Papo in his Pele Yoetz teaches that even during seemingly menial tasks during the day, a person can fulfill numerous Mitzvot, positive commandments of Torah. One can be on their commute to work, a housewife can be preparing dinner and at the same time feeling and expressing their love of God and his goodness or love towards every person. A housewife can be preparing her family's meal, caring for children or any other task and have in mind that all her actions are so that her family could accomplish positive deeds- Mitzvot- in their life. There are always positive thoughts to think about, positive energy to impart onto their surroundings.

For all Klal Yisroel

The Ramchal

Tonight is a very important night. It is Yesod sh'b'Yesod in Sefirah, along with the yahrtzeit of the great tzaddikim the Ramchal (Rav Moshe Chaim Luzzato) zy'a and Rav Saadiyah Gaon zt'l.

The Ramchal is most famous for writing Mesilas Yeshorim and Derech Hashem. He wrote many sifrei Kabboloh though, and that was his main effort. He attained conversation with a Maggid (essentially a Divine spirit guide, depending on the understanding of the Ari this is either a Malach or the soul of a Tzaddik) when he was only 20. Even before then he was already knowledgeable in all areas of Torah. He wrote a sefer of tefilos, a condensed exposition of the Seder Hishtalshelus (the Order of Descent, which describes how the Divine influences and Hashem's Will interface with the wrold) of the Arizal, and various seforim that deal with Sodos HaTorah. Another great accomplishment of his was writing a Sefer Torah in pomegranate ink.

The entire goal of the Ramchal's work is waking up Jews and helping them to realize their real purpose in the world. A Jew isn't supposed to just wake up in the morning, read the paper, watch TV, then eat a bowl of cereal and get on with the day. A Jew is supposed to devote every moment of the day to avodas Hashem. Sometimes this avodah must be done through bitul Torah, as Rebbe Nachman speaks of in several places. In the last perokim of Mesilas Yeshorim dealing with Chassidus (in the original, pre-Baal Shem Tov sense), the Ramchal basically brings out that the ultimate purpose of all the various levels of p'rishus (asceticism) and the pushing yourself towards higher levels in all avodos is ultimately to get to the point where every action you take is directed towards avodas Hashem. At this point of development, which everyone can accomplish with a little elbow grease, every action we do is Divine and accomplishes Tikkunim in this world and all worlds. The way to do this is through following the holy guidance of the Mesilas Yeshorim, learning Toras HaChassidus, along with learning Zohar and other Sifrei Kabboloh, and engaging in heartfelt prayer to Hashem Yisborach our Father, King, and God. Even though the Chassidus of the Baal Shem Tov was just barely getting started at that time, this form of Torah gives us a deeper appreciation and understanding of what the Ramchal teaches us through his seforim.

Hashem should bentsh us with all good things, the Ramchal should be a Meilitz Yosher (A good advocate) for all Klal Yisroel, we should be free from all forms of oppression from the Sitra Achra, and we should be zoche to the Geulah Shleimah swiftly within our days.

Pandemic, Service of God

Rabbi Pinto Teachings

Question 27
Date 03.24.2020
Topic: Pandemic, Service of God

Dear Rabbi,
What does Hashem expect of us during this period of pandemic?

Answer 27:

Hashem seeks the self-improvement of each and every individual- personal improvement, that is.

The area of improvement differs from one person to the next. To have a general sense of how a person should be improving themselves, in what area of their character should they be focusing their change, one should look at what essence they connect with.

According to the Kabbalah, a person's soul/spirit is associated with one of four symbolic elements: air, fire, water, soil. Each one of these elements has a defining character. The element of air is associated with speech, fire with anger, water with physical pleasure and earth with feelings of self-deprecation and depression. To whichever symbolic element a person most connects, they should focus their energy to rectify themselves in that area.

Hidden Blessings Hidden Kindness

Hidden Blessings Hidden Kindness

This week in the Parsha we read the blessings and the punishments.

There is a custom that for the Aliya of the punishments we do not call anyone to the Torah, so that it shouldn’t seem like this person is absorbing all the punishments.

The story is told about Rabbi Dovber of Lubavitch, the second Chabad Rebbe, that one year after the reading of the punishments he took it to heart and he became very ill.

When they asked him what made you so sick now, you have been hearing this every year?

The Rebbe responded, this year I heard the reading for the first time, and the punishments sound so harsh that it made me sick, last year my father did the reading and it didn’t sound like punishments!

“When a father reads you hear no punishments, they are all blessings”.

The same words can sound like punishments or like blessings; it just depends who says it.

Kabbala says that there is open kindness and there is hidden kindness, and the hidden kindness is much greater than open kindness, and it is hidden precisely because it is too strong for the beneficiaries to handle, so it comes in hidden form.

A case in point, ordinary rocks are available everywhere and anywhere, but precious gems and precious metals are buried deep deep down, and one of the hardest and most dangerous jobs is to mine those gold and diamond mines, but once you do the job you hit the jackpot.

Another example is two people climbing a mountain on a scorching hot day carrying heavy knapsacks, one is grouching and the other one is dancing.

When asked why are you so happy when the other guy is moaning? He says, how can you compare, he is carrying rocks and I’m carrying diamonds.

When we know that the heavy load contains great reward, nothing will bring us down.

G-d is our father and G-d is the source of all good, every child knows that his father has only the best interest of his children in mind.

Sometimes the father does things beyond the child’s capacity to comprehend, and the child cries and is upset, but when he grows up he looks back and says, wow, how brilliant was my father that he used force to stop me from running into traffic.

Talk about the infinity of goodness, it is beyond our scope of understanding, we are mortal and very limited in our accepting, but deep down we know that what G-d does is the ultimate good, and we really believe it, but sometimes it is just too difficult to bear, the goodness is just too tough to handle.

But when we remember that G-d is our father and that He is the one who gave us this difficult challenge, it becomes easier to carry the load, and we start marching happily, because we know that with every step we come closer to the final rewards that await us.

We already hear from people how much they will miss the good that came from this dreadful season of Corona; non-Jewish neighbors are begging their Jewish neighbors not to stop the outdoor prayer services.

Others are talking about these wonderful Zoom classes and Zoombrengens that were created in lockdown; let’s not go back to the old routine when we have no time for each other.

The volunteers that formed to help the lonely and the elderly, and what about the Hatzalah volunteers who gave their lives 24/7 just to keep millions alive.

And how can we forget the 15 million dollars raised for Hatzalah in just 24 hours.

And the list is long, many are already now starting to see the positive discovered during this time, and we know that if not this virus we would never realize these amazing qualities that we all contain within us.

When a father reads, we hear no punishments they are all blessings.

But father in heaven, we are all finite mortals, and the blessings are too forceful for us, please shorten the distance to the final destination, it has been long enough.

And we should grow up from childhood to be full-fledged adults who see the wisdom of the father’s hidden kindness and hidden blessings to become revealed blessings and revealed kindness.

“When a father reads you hear no punishments, they are all blessings”.

Like father like son, be blessed and be kind,

Emphasis on Daat - Baal Shem Tov

Emphasis on Daat

Chassidus is a tool to connect to Hashem. All workmen need tools in order to do their job. Every Jew has been given all sorts of tools, Chochmah, (wisdom) Binah (Knowledge), Daat (Understanding) which enables them to direct their life for Hashem. The difference in chassidus is the emphasis on Daat (Understanding). For the chassid, it is not enough to just perform an act for Hashem, he has to understand it enough to internalize the idea. He has to actually feel what he is doing. In fact, in the eyes of a chassid, if he doesn't actually feel the mitzvah and perform it with joy, too him it is as if he is not really doing it. So, what does he do in order to 'feel' the mitzvah at hand, he meditates both before and after on the purpose of existence. What is that?, 'To know Hashem.' An important piece of advice that every Jew should always keep in mind

An important piece of advice that every Jew should always keep in mind by Harav Pinto

“Rabbi Pinto gives a crucial piece of advice to apply during these difficult times.” This shiur is for the benefit, refuah Shleimah and health to Rabbi Pinto and the entire Jewish People. Amen!

To all our dear friends May HaShem bless you with success and all the best.

You are all cherished and loved. May HaShem always bless youwith all the best.

Maybe now that we have a couple of minutes I would like to give over.

An important piece of advice that every Jew should always keep in mind.

In mind especially during these days.

One needs to know that whatever one thinks, is what happens in the end.

One who thinks bad, bad things will come to him.

One who thinks good, will have good coming.

Whoever thinks all day about problems and worries, sees everything negative and all bad, in the end he will go through problems and worries, difficulties, uncomfortable situations and bad things.

But whoever thinks all day good, even when he is going through bad patches, if he keeps a positive outlook, in the end will have good things.

And that’s what said Yaakov Avinu, “The things I feared about, were what I experienced. “Whatever you always fear, is what comes to you.

A person who is always scared to get sick, in the end he will get sick.

A person who is always scared to loose all his money, in the end he will loose it.

“The things I feared about”, at the end of the day was what I had.

The mind is like a magnet, whatever one thinks is what he attracts to himself.

If you think good, you will have good.

G-d forbid, if a person thinks bad, bad things will come to him.

Therefore one needs to always be very careful with his thoughts.

And this is what we saw with Yaakov Avinu after he left the house of Lavan.

Lavan caught up to him and asked him, “Why did you leave? Why did you go? Why didn’t you ask me permission to leave? Why did you feel the need to run away like that, you took your family and ran away quickly?

Yaakov answered to Lavan, “Because I said that you would take my children and wives, and that is why I left” Yaakov Avinu is saying here that because he said and thought “Lavan will take my children and wifes” then it was probably going to happen to me. Therefore, I was forced to flee quickly.

Yaakok Avinu says, “What caused my quick escape without permission? The fact that I thought in my heart and uttered the words that ‘Lavan was going to take my wifes and children’ in the end it was going to happen.

A person who is scared all day and is always saying “This and that is going to going to happen” In the end he will see that it will. Therefore, one must always think good things. One must always think of only good things. Whenever one thinks only thinks about good things and his mindset is always positive, will see good.

We can learn a very good point from this.  It is written that whenever Yossef had his two children, one of them he named Menashe, why Menashe? Yossef said “Because HaShem ‘nashani’ from the house of my father. What does ‘nashani’ mean? Yossef said that he called  his child Menashe because HaShem helped him forget his father. This raises a very important question to Yossef Hatzaddik:  Your father is crying over you all day, your father is in pain all day over you, and here you call your child Menashe because HaShem helped you forget your father? Your father is crying!!! And you honor the fact that you forgot him by naming  your child Menashe?! How can this be?

We thought to answer this with an important principle: It is written that a dead person is forgotten from the heart of his survivors after 12 months.

After 12 months the deceased is forgotten. Why? Because he is dead, he cannot think about me anymore, and therefore, I will not think about him either. Whenever a person thinks about someone, the other also thinks about him.

If I think about him, he will think about me. If I don’t think about him, he will also not think about me. So we can apply this to Yossef Hatzaddik, he loved his father, he said “If I sit and cry over my father all day, then he will also think and cry over me. If I forget him, he will forget about me. If I don’t think about him, then he also won’t think about me. If I don’t remember my father at all, then he will forget about me and he won’t suffer from the pain. “What did Yossef do?

All day he worked on himself to forget his father and refrain from thinking about him.

Because if he forgets about his father, then his father will forget about him. If he forgets  about his father, then his father won’t remember him. Yossef worked on himself really hard to forget his father. And that is why he called his son Menashe, he prayed to HaShem through his son’s name for help to forget his father so that he will forget about him. One needs to know that whenever one think about something, that thing comes alive. As soon as you stop thinking about it, it will die. If you think about a problem, you make it live on. If you about the problem, it will forget about you. If a person has a problem, he should forget about it, take it out of his mind and not think about it at all.

Whenever a person is constantly thinking about a problem, he makes it live on.

There is another point that we can mention: It is written about Yossef when he was in jail….How many years was he supposed to be in jail? 12 years.

How many years did he really spend in jail? 2 years. What happened to Yossef? When Yossef was in jail he went over to the Chief Butler and told him to remember him, and go speak with Pharaoh so that he takes him out of jail because he was innocent. Later Yossef asked himself, “Where is my faith in HaShem? I need to place my trust in HaShem, not in people that will not help me”. It is forbidden to trust people over HaShem. Yossef felt bad for the fact that he asked the Chief Butler for help. So what did he do? He forgot completely about him. He didn’t sit and wait for the promise that the Chief Butler made to him to help him get out of jail, rather, he forgot about it completely. As a result, it is written that the Chief Butler forgot about Yossef. Why? Since Yossef forgot about him first, then the Chief Butler forgot too. Yossef stopped thinking about it, and as soon as he forgot about him, the Chief Butler forgot about Yossef too. The Chief Butler forgot about Yossef and his promise to him completely.

The same applies to every person. When you think about something, you give life to it! When you forget, the thing disappears. When a person is worried all day about a certain issue, the issue persists. Whenever a person forgets about the problem, the problem leaves him.

Therefore, we must always think with a positive outlook.  Always think about good and positive things, about important and good things, and as a result of this positive thinking, you will live a good life.

Yesterday, we asked a question here in the Yeshiva, a very important question. It is written that whoever speaks Lashon Hara (slander) about his friend, will not have a portion in the World to Come. Whoever goes around saying that such and such did xyz not have a portion in the World to Come.

But if he repents, HaShem forgives him. This raises a question: If someone says that “x” is a thief and a liar and later he repented, he said that Reuven is a liar and later he repented, but in the meantime, the gossip goes out in the street everyone is talking about  Reuven that he is a thief and liar. The initiator repented, but the whole world are talking bad about Reuven because of him.

How can we fix this? The same way… at the moment where the speaker repents for real then everyone will forget about the piece of gossip.

Sometimes, we see that someone tells us about someone that is a liar, but we soon, forget, it leaves the heart. Why? Because when the person that spoke bad repents he causes everyone  to forget his words. The power of out thought is very strong. People think that our thoughts are not worth anything.

But people need to know that our thoughts have tremendous power, our thoughts have great power. When one thinks good, good things happen to him.

People who think negative thoughts, all the time begin to see difficulties in his life and things get bad for him. This is what happens these days.

These days we are going through very difficult times, one of the hardest times for Am Israel. There has never been a period of time this hard. Barely, anyone has any trust in HaShem. Whoever has money is always worried he will loose it.

Whoever doesn’t have money is always worried about his next meal. There is tremendous confusion in the environment. One needs to be very strongminded!!! One needs to completely place his trust in HaShem very strongminded!!! And whenever one is strongminded, HaShem  will save him.

“Have hope in HaShem! Reinforce and strengthen your heart and have trust in Lord” (Psalm 27:14). Hope in HaShem, be strong, and again reinforce your Trust in HaShem. May HaShem bless us all with Divine help, and success, You are the armed forces, the righteous Ones, a group of good people from the Yeshiva that maintain the Yeshiva and therefore, may HaShem fulfill all your good  wishes,  and bless you with all the best and happiness, beracha, salvation  and all the blessings, Amen.

Comprehension

Time doesn't heal wounds. Only right people heal them. Only right people help you find important things when you've lost them. Your smile. Your hope. Your courage. Your faith.

By the "right people" I mean people who do you good as well as recognize your inner potential and promote it. People who help you to be the best version of yourself.

A Blessing for Health

A Blessing for Health

Rav Arush says, “One who recites this prayer fervently will merit safeguarding his health, and one who is already sick and recites it, will be blessed with a full recovery..."

“Master of the Universe, merciful Father, have mercy and compassion on all the sick people of Your nation, the House of Israel, and on all the wounded.
Please heal them and send them quickly a complete recovery. In the merits of the true tzaddikim, have mercy and compassion also on me and heal me with a complete recovery through Your loving-kindness, in the merit of the blessing Asher Yatzar that I am about to recite before You.

Please, O Compassionate One! Grant that I shall recite this blessing with great intensity and with supreme joy. Protect me from extraneous thoughts during this blessing and in the merit and with the force of each and every word and each and every letter of this blessing, draw upon me all the remedies in the world, into all of my bones and sinews, into all of my capillaries, arteries, and veins, into all my bones and flesh, and into the five spiritual parts to my soul: my nefesh, my ruach, my neshama, my chaya, and my yechida.

Healer of all flesh! Heal me with a complete healing. Cleanse and remove from my body all toxic waste products; all illnesses, all infections and diseases, all pathogenic microbes, pus, toxic fluids and all types of worms, as well as excess cholesterol and sugar, so that I will be strong and merit to live long and healthy days and years. Amen, may it be so forever!”

Pandemic, Livelihood

RABBI PINTO TEACHINGS

Question 23

Topic: Pandemic, Livelihood.

“Dear Rabbi, should we be going out to work or wait until the pandemic ends?”

Answer 23:

A person can't remain home with financial obligations on their shoulders. Everyone must continue in their occupation, whether they are laymen Torah scholars or people who combine work with daily Torah study.

However, one must be true to themselves as to what they should be doing. There are many who wear the title of Torah scholar, but are insincere in their study and are only in that environment to take advantage of the benefits that come by being associated to the Torah. The Torah has been turned into a metaphorical "shovel" to draw benefit from society through the respect and good that comes to Torah scholars.

Those who dedicate themselves solely to Torah study have their place and so to those that combine Torah with work, all the while keeping the Torah the essence of their lives. Great men like Rabbi Chaim Ben Attar (goldsmith) and Rabbi Yochanan Hasandlar (shoemaker)-of the Talmud- held jobs while focusing themselves on their Torah study. They would work just enough to run their households.

Whichever category a person stands in, they must invest dedicated effort to fulfill their financial responsibilities. Yes, the times may be particularly difficult with many jobless and others transitioned to different job sectors, but one must have it etched in their minds that sustenance comes from God, and God only. Man's obligation is only to invest the effort. A person can invest themselves in one area with little result, but find blessing and success in another area with relatively little effort. God requires that we toil, but He provide the result, through the means He sees most fit for that person.

Regarding the value of Torah scholars, the Talmud recounts that Rabbi Yochanan relinquished enormous wealth to be freed of the accompanying worries and focus on Torah study. His students pitied him, but he explained that he had given up something (material wealth) which was created in six days (the six days of creation) for the Torah, which was transmitted to Moses over forty days.

Before he became the great Torah sage, Rabbi Yochanan and his colleague, Ilfa decided to go into commerce. On the way to their first business affair, they entered a dilapidated building which was haunted by spirits. The spirits attempted to harm the sages but refrained because it was revealed to them that Rabbi Yochanan would one day become a great sage.

Rabbi Yochanan heard their conversation, realized his life's mission was in Torah and decided to accept it. He thus revealed his love for the Torah and was lauded by his contemporaries with the verse in Song of Songs 8:7, "for love (of Torah), man gave up all his household possessions;" Rabbi Yochanan gave up all his wealth for his love of the Torah.

Torah scholars who share Rabbi Yochanan's love and dedication to Torah should continue on. Those, however, that only take advantage of the benefits that come with the Torah should reexamine their objectives.

Spiritual Remedy - Rabbi Nachman of Breslov

BH as Rabbi Nachman of Breslov says about "to be Happy" is good to us serve HaShem, I would like to share a spiritual remedy received during recent Lag b'omer ... Say ten times: "I am happy" and clapping your hands, if you want to do little skips, the better. In case, if you start to feel a little depressed, upset, say I am Happy, I am Happy, I am Happy, it really works. I believe in Rebbe.

Lag B'Omer

Lag B'Omer

Learning Chochma, meaning the works of Kabbalah, is an intrinsic part of the entire life of a Jew, kal v’chomer the lifeblood of a chussid. This was one of the original points of the Baal Shem Tov’s creation of chassidis, was to spread the Toras HaNistar to all Yidden, not just the upper class intelligentsia. Rebbe Nachman in Likutei Moharan brings that every Jew must know Kol HaTorah Kuloh, including the Zohar and Tikkunim. The Ateres Tzvi of Ziditchoiv brings in his sefer, Sur MeRa V’Aseh Tov that every Yid has an obligation to learn Chochmas HaKabbalah; he extends this to the Kisvei HoAri as well, rather than the Zohar alone. Our generation is in especial need for this limud. The Baal HaTanya even brings in the Shulchon Oruch HaRav in Hilchos Talmud Torah that Chochmas HaKabbalah is considered a chelek of “Talmud,” hence he may set aside one third or part of his third for Talmud to learning Kabbalah. Moireinu Rav Chaim Vital zt’l brings in the Hakdomo to Sefer Etz Chaim that one is not completely mekayem mitzvas limud haTorah unless he also learns Kabbalah.

It is brought in the Zohar HaKodosh that the geula will come through Limud HaZohar. We can learn this in two different ways: one is the “Geulah Yechidis,” being the personal redemption of the individual from the illusory nature of corporeality, and the second being “Geulah Klolius,” the geulah for the whole world through the arrival of Moshiach Tzidkeinu. If we interpret this maamar of the Zohar through the lens of the Maaseh Heichal HaMoshiach, which for those who are unfamiliar shall be included at the end of this kuntress, we can see that every Yid first requires his Geulah Yechidis before we can be zoche to the Geulah Klolius; meaning, that everyone must be osek in limud hachochma in order to taste the water of the wellspring, which will liberate the neshomos of all individuals, which will then lead to the Ribono Shel Olam sending us Moshiach, due to the fact that we shall be on the proper madreiga to receive him.

The tzaddikim predict a time in which the world will be full of atheism, and it will be nearly impossible to avoid its corruptive influence. The refuah and shmirah for this is learning Kabbalah. The Baal Shomer Emunim, Baal Ateres Tzvi, and many other rebbes directed their chassidim to learn multiple blatt Zohar and Tikkunei Zohar every day because these works purify the soul of a Jew and bring him closer to the state of dveykus haBorei. At the very least they inspire true emunah and are invaluable due to this.

In short, indeed, far too short, I hope these brief concepts will encourage the tzibur to labor in limud hachochma. Verily it is wondrous and a great benefit to all who labor in the toil of this study. The Chachomim throughout the generations bring many segulos and benefits that come to those who spend their time learning Zohar, Tikkunim, and the other works of Kabbalah. This small kuntress, however, is not the place to go into these segulos and maalos at length. The ikar segulah is brought by the Ateres Tzvi, which is that it brings to Yiras Shomayim and strength in Avodas HaBorei.

HaShem, Tzaddik, You

HaShem, Tzaddik, You

A question: “Dear Rabbi, I used to be a pilot and am beginning to become stronger in religion. As a pilot, I would occasionally talk with people about Torah concepts I didn’t quite understand as I have not grown up with them. Today, I am fortunate enough to have some time to learn and listen to lectures, however I have a question. Why exactly is it important for me to have a rabbi to act as an intermediate between me and God? Why can’t I contact or reach him directly?”

The Rabbi's answer: “Being a pilot is a great job as it is very special. When you take your place and fly, you need something to help you navigate. Something to tell you when to turn left and when to turn right. Without it, you wouldn’t know if you were going to America, Africa, or anywhere else. The role of a rabbi is to act as that navigation piece. To tell you when you’re going to need to turn and when you need to continue straight. A rabbi is essentially the one that guides you on a straight path. Just as without the plane’s navigation you may crash into another plane, so too a rabbi makes sure you’re not crashing by deviating from the right path. Without the plane’s navigation no matter how good of a pilot you are, you won’t succeed in getting to your desired location without its help”.

Be careful when educating your Children - By Rabbi Pinto

Be careful when educating your Children:

Rabbis, teachers, and mentors that don’t know how to educate children and come from their homes bitter and angry and take it out on the kids are wounding their souls. This is a very dangerous thing to do and there is nothing worse than this. And when these teachers distribute Ritalin it causes their class to be half passed out. Every time there is even a minor problem, administering Ritalin is there solution and there is no danger greater than this.
Teachers and mentors who do this are then punished through their own children and then don’t know why they are being punished.

It is imperative to be extremely careful, to know that there is a difference between training and educating. These types of teachers act with the kids the way they would train their dogs until eventually the children will reach their breaking point. It is forbidden to “train” kids and lead them to reach this point. Rather, they need to be educated the right way. The minute a class is run by “training” their students and not by educating them, it will cause damage to future generations as well. A mentor needs to be a role model. He needs to know that he is like a king to his students who will lead them in the way of God with his wisdom. He needs to understand he is dealing with souls of God and act with them accordingly. A mentor that does the opposite and insults the children with his words will break them, essentially killing them at a young age.

Then, when the children grow older and go through life broken, sad, and not understanding the world, they carry the weight of the emotional scars that have been etched into their soul from when they were children. When teachers take their own problems at home with their wife, kids, and job and project them onto their students, even unconsciously, it will affect them. This is a very dangerous thing and parents should be very aware of how a teacher is treating their child. A child is like clay in the hands of an artist, if not handled properly it can ruin the soul of the child. There are so many kids who have been wounded, who will be responsible for them? As adults they may struggle with getting married.

A COLLECTION OF TEACHINGS FOR LAG BA-OMER - Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai

A COLLECTION OF TEACHINGS FOR LAG BA-OMER
Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai’s Last Day

The day of Lag B’Omer commemorates [according to most opinions] the last day of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai’s life, I would like to share [in a personalized way] from his classic work, the Zohar. Based partially on the translation of Daniel Matt in his version of the Zohar, I will share this story in honor of Lag B’Omer this year.

On the day that Rabbi Shimon was to leave this world, he was arranging his affairs. All of his chaverim, his colleagues, assembled at his house. Among them were Rabbi Elazar and Rabbi Abba, but the whole house was full.

On this last day of his life, Rabbi Shimon raised his eyes and saw that the house was full. He began to cry, and he said, “The other time I was ill, R. Yitzchak was in my presence. I was already selecting my place in Paradise, next to his, but I didn’t die then. They extended our lives until now. When I returned, fire was whirling in front of me and it’s never gone out. No human has entered without permission. Now I see the fire is out and the house is filled.”
Rabbi Shimon opened his eyes again, and he saw what he saw. There was a fire whirling throughout the house, which is one of the reasons we light bonfires on Lag B’Omer. And with that fire, everybody left, except for his son, Rabbi Elazar and Rabbi Abba.

Rabbi Shimon told his son, Rabbi Elazar, “Tell him [R. Abba] to arrange my affairs and sit by my side. Happy is his portion.”

That’s exactly what they did. They sat down and Rabbi Shimon began to reveal to them the secrets-the deepest secrets he’d never revealed. Rabbi Shimon said, “This gathering is different than our previous gatherings. In the previous gatherings, the Blessed Holy One and his chariots, they convened.

But now, he comes with all the Righteous from the Garden of Eden and he wants the Righteous to be honored… Rabbi Shimon quoted a verse from the Song of Songs, verse 7:11, “I am my beloved’s, his desire is upon me.”

He went on to explain, “All the days I have been bound to this world, I am bound in a single bond with the Blessed Holy One. That is why his desire is upon me, he and his Holy company have come to hear and enjoy concealed words of praise for the Holy Ancient One, the Concealed of All Concealed, separated from all, yet not separate.”

And they all noticed the presence of this Supernal Company.

Rabbi Shimon said, “Until now, all the words I am going to declare were concealed, for I was scared to reveal them. Yet, now they have been revealed. And it is known by the Holy Blessed One, blessed be he, that I have not acted on this last day of my life for my own honor, nor for the honor of my family. But rather, that I would not enter his Holy Palace ashamed.
Furthermore, I see that the Holy Blessed One and all his Righteous Ones approve. I see all of them rejoicing at this, my wedding celebration.”

He called the last day of his life his “wedding celebration.”

“All of them, in that world, are invited to my wedding celebration. Happy is my portion.”
Rabbi Shimon went on to explain his deepest Kabbalistic Secrets. The Supernal crowd that was there took note of every word. And the description of each word was a description of sparks that are sparkling from the highest spark, from the hidden of all hidden. Levels upon levels of enlightenment, there is revealed upon revealed and these lights were all connected.

The lights of each and every spark were ornaments of the King, the crowns of the King. Every light shines and joins onto the Light within, not separating at all. The Light that is revealed is called the Garment of the King. The Light within is a concealed light. All those sparks and all those Lights sparkle from the Holy Ancient One, the concealed of all concealed, the high spark.
Rabbi Abba said, “Before the Holy Spark finished saying the word, “life,” (which was the last word Rabbi Shimon said in his life) his words subsided.”

Rabbi Abba was still writing. He was the one taking notes. He was the scribe of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai. He said, “I was still writing and intending to write more, but then I heard nothing. I did not raise my head because the light was so overwhelming I could not look. Then I started trembling and I heard a heavenly voice calling, “Length of days and years of life.”

All day long, the fire did not go out in the house. No one could reach the house; fire surrounded it, a heavenly fire. All day long I lay on the ground and wailed. After the fire disappeared I saw the Holy Spark, the Holy of Holies leaving the world. And he had a smile on his face on the last day of his life, which he, himself, called his, “wedding celebration,” his passage into the higher world.

Rabbi Chiya rose to his feet and said, “Until now the Holy Spark has looked after us.
Now is the time to engage in honoring him.”

They carried his body out, lifted the bed he was lying on, and after the bed emerged from the house it rose and a fire blazed before it. They heard a voice saying, “Come and enter. Assemble for the wedding celebration of Rabbi Shimon. They shall come to peace. They shall rest on their couches.” [Isaiah 57\2]

As they entered the cave for burial, they heard a [Heavenly] voice from inside that said, “This is the man who shook the earth, who made kingdoms tremble. Many open mouths of accusation up in heaven subside today because of you, Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai. Happy is his portion above and below. Many sublime treasures lie in store for him. With him it is said, ‘’As for you , go to the end and take your rest; you will rise for your reward at the end of days.”

LIGHT INTO THE DARKNESS
THE PASSWORD

1.       A brokenhearted Rabbi Chiyah fasted for a [2nd consecutive] 40 day period. He was hoping to be granted Divine permission to be able to visit his beloved Rebbe, R. Shimon Bar Yochai, who had recently passed away.
R. Shimon was now presiding over one of the most important Heavenly Houses of Study, which was attended by the highest levels of saints and scholars of all generations.
Permission was granted and R. Chiyah found himself standing at the entrance to this Heavenly Yeshiva. Suddenly a thundering 'Bat Kol' [Heavenly voice] announced, '...No one has permission to enter unless they have spent their entire life-time engaged in transforming darkness into light...' [Zohar Breishit].
We're quickly approaching the Holiday of Lag Baomer. Lag is the numerical acronym for the number 33 which stands for this day being the 33rd day of the Omer count----Spelled Backwards, Lag = 'Gal', which means to uncover or reveal.
This festive day according to most traditions, is the 'Yahrtzeit' [day of death] of R. Shimon Bar Yochai; the 2ndcentury author of what is Kabbalah's most important classic work, 'The Zohar'.
Annually, on this day, more than 1\2 million people congregate at R. Shimon's gravesite in the upper Gallilee mountain village Meron. This gigantic gathering is not characterized by weeping or sadness at the loss of such a great luminary as R. Shimon. No!---Quite the contrary---it's the celebration of the year, drawing a very diversified crowd [every type of Jew found in the land of Israel] who come and sing and dance in incredible elated joy.
And all these people present, share the common feeling [some more consciously than others] of having a mystical soul-connected affinity with R. Shimon! And each and every person is recharged by their encountering of the energy and presence of R. Shimon, with an ability to bring light into the dark areas of their lives.

Blessings,

HOD OF HOD

Each day of the Omer, there shines forth the energy of a different Sefira [a trait bridging the Divine realm to the human realm]. If we understand the nature of that Sefira, then we would be able to perceive that everything that takes place on that day bespeaks the essential meaning of that day's Sefira.

The Sefira of Lag Baomer is HOD of HOD, which represents the quintessence of HOD. HOD expresses the ability to enable others to bring out their glory. This power of enabling is motivated by the drive to reach down into the lowest levels of darkness of people's souls and of all aspects of reality, and reveal in that very place of darkness, a brilliant shining light.
The word 'Zohar' means brilliant light. This dynamic describes the essence of who R. Shimon and his teachings are. All of the wisdom, secrets and stories filling the Zohar have one thing in common; shining light in areas of reality that would otherwise remain unexplained, closed up, and darkened. A coal or an ember is fanned into a full-blown flame [this is the reason that it's customary to light bonfires on Lag Baomer].

The Zohar mystically illuminates countless concepts and principles which span the entire scope of life and Torah. A typical passage penetrates to the soul of matter. The subject is revealed and reveals the following: its source in “Gal (= GEMATRIA 33 ) ennai/unveil my eyes so I can see the wonders of Your Torah!” the Upper Worlds, its transcendent impact in the dimensions of time, space and souls and its purifying and microcosmic effect in the minds and hearts of those who are presently learning the passage.

All the episodes and enchanting descriptions of R. Shimon also convey the theme of light shining into the darkness----------from his 13 year hideaway period [from the anti-Semitic Romans] in a dark cave, where the entire scope of the Zohar's Kabbalistic wisdom was revealed to him----all the way to the very last day of his life, when he revealed to all attendant Heavenly and earthly beings, the most important secrets of the Zohar--------and it all culminated in his passing away with a smile on his face---the ultimate expression of light banishing the darkness!!

Blessings,
yitzchak

THE POWER OF KABBALISTIC LEARNING [according to the Holy Zohar]

1. There is not a letter or word in the Torah that does not contain Kabbalistic secrets
2. True Kabbalah causes the world to be filled with the knowledge of Hashem
3. One who goes on to the post-life without Kabbalistic knowledge, though they may be filled with
Mitzvot and good deeds, will not be able to enter the [innermost] gates of the world to come
4. The one who occupies them self with Kabbalah, is able to sweeten up all that's difficult, cast aside harsh judgements and purify them self
5. One who ignores to pay proper attention to Kabbalah, causes p-overty and the elongation of the exile
6. Every Kabbalistic word properly learned, creates entire worlds
7. The masters of Kabbalah will be the first to rise in the ressurection of the dead
8. The prayers of the Masters of Kabbalah will be received and answered
9. The masters of Kabbala have the power to nullify harsh decrees, to be in constant connectio to Hashem, to bring down blessing and are called Tzadikim [righteous ones]
10. There is no wisdom that compares to that of Kabbalistic wisdom
11. The knowledge of Mitzvot are considered to be the BODY of the Torah, whereas it's SOUL is the secrets of the Torah [ie...The Kabbalah]
12. The masters of Kabbalah, relative to others , are referred to as the children of Hashem, as opposed to being Hashem's servants, and this s because they know Hashem inimately and not just in a general way.
